	Monkeydog Jun 25, 2016 While it's obvious that there would be no MonkeyPro, and therefore no MonkeyCon, without MonkeyDog, that would be a discredit to his awesomeness to not say that again. There would have been no MonkeyCon without MonkeyDog. Not least of all because he paid for the lodging, but he made sure there was plenty of food (perhaps a bit too much), helped give people rides to and fro, and made sure that we all had plenty to do to keep us from actually having to confront the reality of our situation: That a bunch of relative strangers agreed to spend a week together in a cabin in the mountains. Monkey, you are truly member of the year every year, this year most of all. Thank you so much for everything you did.

	kspr Sep 29, 2015 As we all know, I'm sure, Kasper has been up to some pretty cool stuff for a while. What with the acting and script writing, but I think the costume he's been working on for the haunted house is especially cool. It'd certainly scare the bejesus out of me to see that jump out at me.

	BottomGuy Sep 02, 2015 This is a bit late, but we didn't have any weekly updates last week, either, so I figured now is as good a time as any. Bottomguy announced that he moved to LA and got a job as a Disney Imagineer! I think we can all agree that sounds pretty awesome.
	kspr Aug 18, 2015 I'm given to understand that Kasper has been involved in quite a few things in his first year as a freelance actor. The list he gave was fairly impressive. He may even be in for some "easy money" soon, but that will require some forethought. As a bonus, I'm pretty sure he's the first internet person to commission my sewing type skills, which is yay.

He's probably in for a rough few months, so regardless of how you feel about him, wish him the best, because despite his views, he was trying, in his own way, to help people. 	Monkeydog Jul 27, 2015 So uhh... I was originally gonna make this a game that Monkeydog had made, but surprise, his own site doesn't even have any of them! But, when I sorted the game list by creator, this little gem, by Alex Lazo de la Vega de Stack popped right out at me. Now, I wasn't actually able to play this, because it says it can't load Title1. I don't know if that's a problem with the game or just me, since the only RM game I've ever been able to play was Arbor's Eve, so maybe you'll have more luck with it? Let me know.
	Donkeymog Jul 22, 2015 Earlier this week Bean became enlighten and learned the correct way to browse MP while on the potty. He also posted a whole lot, probably because he's now capitalizing his toilet time and turning it into MP time. Which is a much better way to spend your time on a toilet than being on Reddit (which is now what Bean is telling everyone as far as I know).

	Vicious Parker Jun 17, 2015 This gentleman is knee deep in all of the news I just wrote about. He is our most reputable member, and his posts covering the big E3 shows have been fairly extensive. Also this fellow likes Earthbound. That's really all the reason I need to give him this honor.
	SpazCat Jun 09, 2015 While a number of people have been involved in the planning of MP-con thus far, I think it's safe to say that none of us would have shown half as much interest if it weren't for Spaz taking the lead and getting the ball rolling. Chances are, even if MP-con somehow doesn't happen next year, she'll probably come in and kick us back into gear.
	3DS Jun 02, 2015 As an artist, I'm really impressed with how long Dark Shadow's kept on producing comics. It's seriously hard to keep up with the workload for this sort of thing, and it can be hard to keep interested even when progress is slow- especially if the artist doesn't get a lot of feed back (hint hint, nudge nudge). Believe me, I know. I have many, many failed comics. So, good job, DS! :D

Ahem, as I was saying, Kasper managed to initiate a debate in the "serious" forum that has gone on for several posts, and no one has yet descended into exclamations of "NO U!" Kudos, sir.

	Puffin Apr 14, 2015 I'm having a hard time remembering what happened over the past week, and honestly the biggest thing for me is that Homestuck has started back up. It's Puffin's fault that I started reading the gargantuan thing and subsequently became obsessed with it, and that seems like more than enough excuse for a Member of the Week pick.

	Phalanxman Mar 24, 2015 Whatever each of us may think of him, Streets definitely had an impact on this site. He was Rookie of the Year when he first joined us, he was honored as Member of the Week shortly after joining due to his penchant for arguing, and a deprecated forum was reinstated due to his activity. Streets' recent departure was received with...mixed reactions, but as was said in the previous update topic, you will be welcomed if you ever chose to return to MP. Preferably unarmed.
	Kamau Mar 17, 2015 Yes, yes, I'm biased,. I admit it. I vote for him for at least half of the MP awards and in every contest that crops up on MP, but it's not just simple favoritism (not entirely, anyway). It's because, in my opinion, she is every bit deserving of all those things. Because he's just that awesome, clearly (there's your ego boost for the week, Kam-kam). Also, she's visiting this week, so, you know, he just wins automatically with that in my book.

	Monkeydog Feb 16, 2015 I think it's safe to say that even if our move to the new server is delayed- hell, even if it never pans out like he'd want- that this past weekend is evidence of Monkey's dedication to MP. He's always looking for ways to improve our little corner of the internet, whether it's a change of server or, er, fixing the issues that inadvertently popped up as a result of said change of server (seriously, though, you'll get it next time).
	Stars Feb 10, 2015 Do you guys know what Stars did for us last week (well, really over the course of a month or so)? He made a pretty neat RPG Maker game to help present the Member of the Year awards. Why is this great? Because without it, I probably would have just presented the awards in the most boring way possible: by just saying them. With it, our award show was filled with cheesy, inconsistent voice acting, the community's lack of trust in my ability to win battles (by constantly reminding me to save), and ridiculous, unpracticed and embarrasing singing. All of those things were made possibly by Stars' awesome contribution to our MOTY award show. Thanks, Stars!

He started a silly RPG Maker website eons ago, and it has somehow survived to this day, albeit with slightly less RPG Maker than before. I raise my glass to you, Monkeydog. 	Puffin Dec 02, 2014 Puffin has done two pretty amazing updates in the past two months, and we salute her for that. She's also amazing in almost everything she does. Like art (she has the most art on the site), or writing (she wrote the most for NaNoWriMo), or punching guys in the throat (she is theoretically going to punch the most guys in the throat). Also it's cold, and that reminds me of Puffins.
	Shoulder Devil Nov 25, 2014 Recently back from the abyss, Shoulder Devil has come back to MP with ideas of creating a new RP contest, following in the same vein as the Triple-C. However, all that happened last week. So, you're not getting this award because of your return or even your interest in role playing and character creation- you're getting this because I respect your ability to handle the heat (though I'd hope you could, being a devil and all).

Also, since a brand new Pokemon game is being released this week, there is some relevance in acknowledging the creator of on of the best fan made Pokemon games around.

	Stars Jul 01, 2014 Back in April, somebody made a comment about how everybody was Stars, and then we had a Stars themed week where everybody was Stars-like. While visiting Spaz and I, Stars made the comment about how he wanted to name everybody "Stars," but normally that's not possible. Except that secretly it is possibly through sorcery. While I have no doubt that Red Hiney is a reference to something I'm not aware of, it reminds me of a Weird Al lyric. Derpy is always so cheerful and happy, and just makes the forums that much brighter and more interesting. 	Puffin Apr 15, 2014 Puffin could draw her way out of any puzzle dungeon. The puzzle might be to draw a new title card for someone's Channel, or draw a 3 headed monkey for the site banner. It could even be to draw an entire thread of interesting, professional quality art, and Puffin could do it without breaking a sweat. 	Tau Apr 08, 2014 Achievements are achievements, ya know? I heard recently that someone earned a 1 million point gamer score on X-Box live. That means that he likely received such achievements as pressing the A button 2047 times in the game Command and Conquer 3, or simply pressing the start button in The Simpsons Game. Yeah, whoever this person is, they are not as cool as Tau. A losing streak like his in Trips is certainly an achievement in itself, worth all the gamer points, and I say this with no hint of sarcasm. It's like a high score, and Tau has the highest. Achievement unlocked.
	Kamau Apr 01, 2014 Kamau was a great bug finder in the first few days of MID Patrol. Kamau also wrote some great Disney reviews recently with Puffin, and has been a valued member of MonkeyPro for a long long long long time. Also, Kamau is moving to Africa to film a documentary on Elephant Slave Labor, and that is a cause we can all get behind.
	Glaciermage Mar 25, 2014 I probably award this to Glace too much. Or maybe he doesn't get it enough, I won't know. Glace gets it this week because of March Madness, which was his idea. Also because of secrets, which was also his idea. You may not know what these secrets are, but when you do, you'll be like "yeah, that is totally worth MOTW, Glace is a beautiful human being and I should give my first born to him".
	panda Mar 18, 2014 Panda is member of the week for a few reasons. Unfortunately one of them is a secret to everybody, but look forward to news about a thing somewhere down the road. I also have to give panda credit for making Metroid cocktails. That was pretty awesome despite alcohol still being nasty.
	SpazCat Mar 11, 2014 We honor our members in many different ways here at Monkeypro. Some members are lifetime achievers. Some make interesting contributions to the site or forum. Occasionally some are honored just by virtue of having asked to receive an honor. Sometimes, though, I don't see anything wrong with honoring a member for what they've done outside of the forum. Which is why this week, WifeySpaz, I choose you! My wonderful wife and best friend is definitely family member of the week each and every week in our household, and member of the week this week on Monkeypro. (And for the record, no, it is not her birthday, our anniversary, nor did I do something wrong and need to beg forgiveness. Sometimes you do these things just because, ya know?)

	Hyperlisk Feb 18, 2014 Statistical Analyses show that "Alakalisk" deserves to be Member of the Week. He has been here from the beginning, he is top 10 in post count, and is one of, if not the best programmer in the community. His very own HYPE ratings help define who we are as Trips players, and have added a whole new level of statistic to the game. For all of your efforts this week, you greatly deserve this coveted honor, Hyperlisk.
	Stars Feb 11, 2014 To help promote the coolness that is Trips, I'm honoring the first person who defeated me in a game of Trips by giving him title of Member of the Week. Congratulations, Stars. Admittedly beating me isn't much of an accomplishment, but who cares, ya know? Stars is the cool.
	matrim Feb 05, 2014 Matrim doesn't get enough recognition around here. The guy is a great coder and recently became a teacher through Coder Dojo, which sounds like a great way to get kids interested in programming. He also looks like a magazine model, now that we've seen pictures of him. For those who don't check the Minecraft forum, matrim has been busy busy busy with his subterranean tunnel town. He's already done quite a lot with it, and it looks like there's a lot more to come.
	BottomGuy Jan 28, 2014 BG just can not catch a break when it comes to MOTY awards. Always one to be on the bottom of votes. Ironically, BG's first foray into MP was during the first MOTY awards show, as the titular "guy on the bottom". Yet two years in a row he's been overlooked, but really, he's the member of the year every year in my heart. (Also he posted about a kick ass board game I want to play +1 for that.)
	panda Jan 21, 2014 Bangarang, Pan-da man! Our very own Kung Fu Panda has come from out of nowhere (possibly selling noodles) to become a Champion by posting consistently for weeks now, and by adding quality posts to all manner of topics. Just thinking about what the forums were like before he was here makes me a sad panda. It's for these reasons that he has taken the Panda Express right to Member of the Week honors! Yeah... I think I'm finally out of references. Congrats, Panda!
	lazlo falconi Jan 14, 2014 Though I'm not 100% certain of the web of connections involved, I suspect that Lazlo is either directly responsible or somehow related to several of our members, past and present. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the number of connections he has, and the number of people who have come here through those connections seems to rival only Monkeydog. And that's pretty cool.
	Vicious Parker Jan 07, 2014 VP is a great guy. He goes above and beyond to try to understand where people are coming from whether or not he agrees with them. Invince also just became our second member to achieve a reputation score of 1,000 earlier today, so kudos for that! As a bonus, this Home Dog makes pretty great Elder Scrolls mods. Oh, and I guess he had a kid recently too. People were making a big deal out of it or something. So yeah, Tony was an easy choice for Member of the Week.

	Frost Dec 24, 2013 It's a winter themed update, and his name is Frost! Frost may not be the most active member of the MonkeyPro forums, but he is a major contributor to the MonkeyCraft Server. 	Donkeymog Dec 10, 2013 Not a lot has happened this week (that's happy and fun and we want to talk about), but Bean has been working hard on Minecraft stuffs, keeping the server active and in working order. I don't actually read the Minecraft forum since I don't play the game, but it has been one of our most active areas lately, despite being so specialized, and I blame Bean for that. Looking at other areas of the board, one might wonder where all the love has gone. But we all know the answer to that.

	3DS Nov 19, 2013 Sometimes this honor is given to someone who has done something special the previous week. Other times it is given out as somewhat of a "lifetime achievement" to honor a member that has been a valuable part of the community for quite some time. In this instance, both are true. Although sporadic, Dark Shadow has been a valuable MonkeyPro member for years, and his MonkeyPro Comic idea has generated a fair amount of buzz. We look forward to seeing where it goes.

He is, after all, the only active member who is also actively working on a game project. However, I think that he is perhaps the human embodiment of giving zero fucks on that day, or any day, really. Yeah, that sounds about right. That is what makes him great.
	legacyme3 Sep 18, 2013 Through the unexplainable miracles of science, Legacy was chosen as this weeks MOTW. Using a complex choosing ritual which involves putting a bunch of names in a hat, placing that hat in the center of a pentagram, lighting candles (vanilla scented--the most ritualistic scent), and dancing naked around that hat for hours in the middle of the night, I pretty much just chose Legacy because I wanted to after I was released from jail for indecent exposure.
	Donkeymog Sep 10, 2013 While reviewing posts to help decide this week's MOTW, I noticed that Bean's posts aren't consistent. Some are sarcastic, some are insightful, some are gifs of Mr. Bean, and some are inspired by intoxicants. Maybe most are. While meditating on this, the light from the rising sun crept in to my window, and in a moment of divine inspiration, the meaning of his posts came to me. They're about balance. Equal parts yin and yang (and alcohol). Equal parts brains and gifs. Posting within the mean. Indulging in all types of posts, but being a glutton of none. May we all learn from him, and in following his example, rise to buddhahood.
	Puffin Sep 03, 2013 Give a big congratulations to Puffin this week, for being selected member of the week. Though not always one of the weekly top posters, Puffin has contributed to the community in a number of ways over the years, and has always been a benefit to our ranks. And I didn't chose her out of guilt for losing all of her lives in this week's game of the week, because I'm not motivated by guilt in that way.
	Xteven Xavier Aug 27, 2013 "I didn't ask for this," is the sort of thing that Adam Jenson might say if I picked him for member of the week. It is a life altering responsibility, and few are willing to bare that burden by choice. Not Xteven, however, who made his desires known a few weeks ago. In that time, I skipped out on two updates, and kinda forgot that I was probably going to choose him for one of those weeks. However, that's OK, because like it always does, patience has paid off. Congratulations, Xteven, you are this week's most celebrated member.
	Vicious Parker Aug 20, 2013 What can be said about this man? This incredible man? That has not been said before? I don't know. The only thing I do know is I can't write up a MOTW worthy for him. He's always here to keep the peace, without being vicious, and really keeps this boat going steady. He writes wonderful updates and keeps us amused with weekly doses in sci-fi. He has added so much to the community (including his wonderful wife) and asks for nothing back. He is really quite incredible, and I'm not sure what else to write that wouldn't just be more fluff.

If history has taught us anything, it's that political topics, especially on the internets, are always places of civility and politeness. Of all the places I might consider discussing politics, MonkeyPro has to be in the top only place ever.

BG (aka BottomGuy aka BestGuy) is one of the most consistent member of leaving for periods of time and then coming back, and actually doing stuff like the Triple C. It's always like Christmas day when BG starts posting again, like a little spark of happiness in my heart whenever I see him online again after weeks of silence from his account. Rather, because the only activity Amethyst has had around here lately is BRINGING THE SITE TO ITS KNEES! Differing opinions help keep discussions lively, and Streets is just chock full of differing opinions. It may seem like a strange reason to name someone as MOTW, but it's good enough for me. 	Stars Jun 10, 2013 I don't know who the guy in the original meme is, but I have a feeling that Stars is Good Guy Greg personified. One of the most regular and active members, not just in terms of post count, but in keeping active with most topics. Even keeping active with old projects that seem to have gone by the wayside. Not to push people, but out of genuine curiosity for past creativity. If that's not what makes Stars so full of Stars, I don't know what is.

When we get to hear about his adventures, whether out exploring the world, or in employment, I can't help but think that he must be the most interesting man in the world mixed with Wile E. Coyote. People like Spazcat should not be promoted, be elected, be praised, and most concerning and most damning of all, should not be given psuedo-awards on internet message boards. Don't think for a second that this bit of recognition wasn't bought, likely with blood. Count your family members, fingers, and toes. And your cats. And trust no one.
