While it's obvious that there would be no MonkeyPro, and therefore no MonkeyCon, without MonkeyDog, that would be a discredit to his awesomeness to not say that again. There would have been no MonkeyCon without MonkeyDog. Not least of all because he paid for the lodging, but he made sure there was plenty of food (perhaps a bit too much), helped give people rides to and fro, and made sure that we all had plenty to do to keep us from actually having to confront the reality of our situation: That a bunch of relative strangers agreed to spend a week together in a cabin in the mountains. Monkey, you are truly member of the year every year, this year most of all. Thank you so much for everything you did. |

As we all know, I'm sure, Kasper has been up to some pretty cool stuff for a while. What with the acting and script writing, but I think the costume he's been working on for the haunted house is especially cool. It'd certainly scare the bejesus out of me to see that jump out at me. |

This gentleman talked up the Mistborn books enough to get me started on them myself. These have saved me from my last two work shifts being completely dull when I had nothing else to do for those entire days. You saved the week, Mr. Parker. Therefore you are its member. |

- Sep 02, 2015
This is a bit late, but we didn't have any weekly updates last week, either, so I figured now is as good a time as any. Bottomguy announced that he moved to LA and got a job as a Disney Imagineer! I think we can all agree that sounds pretty awesome. |

I'm given to understand that Kasper has been involved in quite a few things in his first year as a freelance actor. The list he gave was fairly impressive. He may even be in for some "easy money" soon, but that will require some forethought. As a bonus, I'm pretty sure he's the first internet person to commission my sewing type skills, which is yay. |

Streets got arrested for [his radical views] disregarding a court order [and threatening people on the streets]. He's probably in for a rough few months, so regardless of how you feel about him, wish him the best, because despite his views, he was trying, in his own way, to help people. Good luck, Sam, and remember, you're always welcome to vent here. |

So uhh... I was originally gonna make this a game that Monkeydog had made, but surprise, his own site doesn't even have any of them! But, when I sorted the game list by creator, this little gem, by Alex Lazo de la Vega de Stack popped right out at me. Now, I wasn't actually able to play this, because it says it can't load Title1. I don't know if that's a problem with the game or just me, since the only RM game I've ever been able to play was Arbor's Eve, so maybe you'll have more luck with it? Let me know. |

Earlier this week Bean became enlighten and learned the correct way to browse MP while on the potty. He also posted a whole lot, probably because he's now capitalizing his toilet time and turning it into MP time. Which is a much better way to spend your time on a toilet than being on Reddit (which is now what Bean is telling everyone as far as I know). |

Last time I made Spazcat MotW because of her gumption relating to MP-con, but she's not the only one involved in MP-con shenanigans- Monkey has been instrumental in deciding on a location and he deserves this doubly for even offering to pay for the venue! :D |

While a number of people have been involved in the planning of MP-con thus far, I think it's safe to say that none of us would have shown half as much interest if it weren't for Spaz taking the lead and getting the ball rolling. Chances are, even if MP-con somehow doesn't happen next year, she'll probably come in and kick us back into gear. |

As an artist, I'm really impressed with how long Dark Shadow's kept on producing comics. It's seriously hard to keep up with the workload for this sort of thing, and it can be hard to keep interested even when progress is slow- especially if the artist doesn't get a lot of feed back (*hint hint, nudge nudge*). Believe me, I know. I have many, many failed comics. So, good job, DS! :D |

Really, his idea of trying to write a story around Streets bizzarre point of views (or about MP at all) is kind of intriguing, so here you go. Member of the week'd for that. |
| Puffin
- Apr 14, 2015
I'm having a hard time remembering what happened over the past week, and honestly the biggest thing for me is that Homestuck has started back up. It's Puffin's fault that I started reading the gargantuan thing and subsequently became obsessed with it, and that seems like more than enough excuse for a Member of the Week pick. |

Today, in a shocking display of "Because I can," I'm choosing my wife as Member of the Week. Whatever each of us may think of him, Streets definitely had an impact on this site. He was Rookie of the Year when he first joined us, he was honored as Member of the Week shortly after joining due to his penchant for arguing, and a deprecated forum was reinstated due to his activity. Streets' recent departure was received with...mixed reactions, but as was said in the previous update topic, you will be welcomed if you ever chose to return to MP. Preferably unarmed. |

Yes, yes, I'm biased,. I admit it. I vote for him for at least half of the MP awards and in every contest that crops up on MP, but it's not just simple favoritism (not entirely, anyway). It's because, in my opinion, she is every bit deserving of all those things. Because he's just that awesome, clearly (there's your ego boost for the week, Kam-kam). Also, she's visiting this week, so, you know, he just wins automatically with that in my book. |

I think it's safe to say that even if our move to the new server is delayed- hell, even if it never pans out like he'd want- that this past weekend is evidence of Monkey's dedication to MP. - Feb 10, 2015
Do you guys know what Stars did for us last week (well, really over the course of a month or so)? He made a pretty neat RPG Maker game to help present the Member of the Year awards. Why is this great? Because without it, I probably would have just presented the awards in the most boring way possible: by just saying them. With it, our award show was filled with cheesy, inconsistent voice acting, the community's lack of trust in my ability to win battles (by constantly reminding me to save), and ridiculous, unpracticed and embarrasing singing. All of those things were made possibly by Stars' awesome contribution to our MOTY award show. Thanks, Stars! |

Streets is this week's member of the week. Why, you ask? I guess for no other reason than because Streets, in spite of everything, sticks to his guns. Like, he has real guns. And he sticks to them. (This pun probably isn't as funny as I think it is). |

I dunno why, but I just kinda felt like picking Legacy this week. The guy knows what he likes when it comes to video games, and I can respect that (even if we disagree on matters of dlc). He's also one of the few members who still uploads new content to MPTV. Keep the dream alive, Leggy. |
| Puffin
- Dec 02, 2014
Puffin has done two pretty amazing updates in the past two months, and we salute her for that. She's also amazing in almost everything she does. Like art (she has the most art on the site), or writing (she wrote the most for NaNoWriMo), or punching guys in the throat (she is theoretically going to punch the most guys in the throat). Also it's cold, and that reminds me of Puffins. |
| Shoulder Devil
- Nov 25, 2014
Recently back from the abyss, Shoulder Devil has come back to MP with ideas of creating a new RP contest, following in the same vein as the Triple-C. However, all that happened last week. So, you're not getting this award because of your return or even your interest in role playing and character creation- you're getting this because I respect your ability to handle the heat (though I'd hope you could, being a devil and all). |
| Amethyst
- Nov 18, 2014
It's kind of a tradition that whenever Amethyst makes even one post, she automatically receives MOTW. So what if maybe it's cheating a little bit. Amethyst deserves it, really. Also, since a brand new Pokemon game is being released this week, there is some relevance in acknowledging the creator of on of the best fan made Pokemon games around. |

Why would I chose an inactive member for MOTW? Two Reasons. First, Glace is probably the reason that we're still doing this thing regularly, even though he hasn't been around lately. He had a revitalizing effect on MP with some of his ideas. And because I'm secretly hoping that he's like Beetlejuice. We all need to say his name three times and he's going to appear. Glaciermage. Glaciermage. Glaciermage. |

Bottomguy has the least amount of profile views of any of our beloved regulars at 235. If you loitered on his page more, you'd see he somehow scored 166 points at 501 darts. Can YOU win a game by only scoring a third of the points? That's almost a mutant super power. |

- Sep 23, 2014
Panda thought it would be a good idea to post a catchy song in the "What are you listening to?" topic. And though I had heard it once before (Thanks to my wife, who didn't believe me when I told her I had no idea what it was), I still could have gone my whole life without hearing it again. Not because it's a bad song. Because it's too damn catchy.
So why does this make Panda MOTW? Spite. Because of spite. Now EVERYBODY knows what you did, Panda. |

So I've been much more of a lurker than a poster this week, visiting mostly on my phone, because I moved my computer up to our living room so that Spaz and I could play Civ 5 together (Since she does not yet have a copy. This resulted in many hours of fun. To honor this, I've decided to give this week's award to the member with the most hours logged in to Civ 5. Unfortunately that's me... It's been almost two months since Kasper was last Member of the Week and that's no good. He's obviously the best. Despite his constant "runner-up" position, he never gives up and always has a snarky comment to make every thread worth reading. To celebrate his upcoming birthday, I decided to take the expand take the original idea to it's logical extreme. Everybody, happy Stars. Stars, happy birthday. |

Kasper is Kasper. My reason for choosing Kasper this week is a little strange... It's entirely to do with his current user name. While I have no doubt that Red Hiney is a reference to something I'm not aware of, it reminds me of a Weird Al lyric. For your adventurous attitude, your MonkeyPro tenure, and your incredible skills, you are The Member of the Week during Link week, Puffin. Congrats! |

- Apr 08, 2014
Achievements are achievements, ya know?
I heard recently that someone earned a 1 million point gamer score on X-Box live. That means that he likely received such achievements as pressing the A button 2047 times in the game Command and Conquer 3, or simply pressing the start button in The Simpsons Game. Yeah, whoever this person is, they are not as cool as Tau. A losing streak like his in Trips is certainly an achievement in itself, worth all the gamer points, and I say this with no hint of sarcasm. It's like a high score, and Tau has the highest. Achievement unlocked. |

We honor our members in many different ways here at Monkeypro. Some members are lifetime achievers. Some make interesting contributions to the site or forum. Occasionally some are honored just by virtue of having asked to receive an honor. Sometimes, though, I don't see anything wrong with honoring a member for what they've done outside of the forum. Which is why this week, WifeySpaz, I choose you! My wonderful wife and best friend is definitely family member of the week each and every week in our household, and member of the week this week on Monkeypro. He has been here from the beginning, he is top 10 in post count, and is one of, if not the best programmer in the community. For all of your efforts this week, you greatly deserve this coveted honor, Hyperlisk. |

Matrim doesn't get enough recognition around here. The guy is a great coder and recently became a teacher through Coder Dojo, which sounds like a great way to get kids interested in programming. He also looks like a magazine model, now that we've seen pictures of him. For those who don't check the Minecraft forum, matrim has been busy busy busy with his subterranean tunnel town. He's already done quite a lot with it, and it looks like there's a lot more to come. |

BG just can not catch a break when it comes to MOTY awards. Always one to be on the bottom of votes. Ironically, BG's first foray into MP was during the first MOTY awards show, as the titular "guy on the bottom". Yet two years in a row he's been overlooked, but really, he's the member of the year every year in my heart. (Also he posted about a kick ass board game I want to play +1 for that.) |

Bangarang, Pan-da man!
Our very own Kung Fu Panda has come from out of nowhere (possibly selling noodles) to become a Champion by posting consistently for weeks now, and by adding quality posts to all manner of topics. Just thinking about what the forums were like before he was here makes me a sad panda. It's for these reasons that he has taken the Panda Express right to Member of the Week honors!
Yeah... I think I'm finally out of references. Congrats, Panda! |

Though I'm not 100% certain of the web of connections involved, I suspect that Lazlo is either directly responsible or somehow related to several of our members, past and present. It's a winter themed update, and his name is Frost! Frost may not be the most active member of the MonkeyPro forums, but he is a major contributor to the MonkeyCraft Server. MonkeyCraft simply would not be the same without him.
Also he was the first to break the new baby news this week. For that Frost, we honor you as this week's Member of the Week. |

Have you ever been to one of those businesses, like a restaurant or a store, that would sell their first born child just to make you happy? That's... Monkey Pro. See, when we get new members, we can sometimes go all Babu Bhatt on them in the hopes that they come back time and time again. Which is why this week our MOTW is a new member, Homura. And let me just say, Homura, we hope you never leave. Please. Tell your friends and family about us! |

Not a lot has happened this week (that's happy and fun and we want to talk about), but Bean has been working hard on Minecraft stuffs, keeping the server active and in working order. I don't actually read the Minecraft forum since I don't play the game, but it has been one of our most active areas lately, despite being so specialized, and I blame Bean for that. Looking at other areas of the board, one might wonder where all the love has gone. But we all know the answer to that. |

Not only is he posting with far more frequency he's making some good posts and yes! Also he is Taiwanese movie star royalty by blood. So respect his authority. |

Sometimes this honor is given to someone who has done something special the previous week. Other times it is given out as somewhat of a "lifetime achievement" to honor a member that has been a valuable part of the community for quite some time.
In this instance, both are true. Although sporadic, Dark Shadow has been a valuable MonkeyPro member for years, and his MonkeyPro Comic idea has generated a fair amount of buzz. We look forward to seeing where it goes. |

So here's the deal: you upload a video to MPTV, you get points (and according to Bean, points means prizes). You upload a video with a cat, you get noticed. You upload a video with a cat named after me, because I can only assume that KP stands for Kitty Parker, then I name you member of the week. Congratulations to Legacy for figuring out this once heavily guarded secret formula. |

Just in case you hadn't noticed when reading his posts, Saint Cynicism has style. I dare say that he has enough style points to shop at Boutique Coiture, AND receive the lowest prices. I don't know if it was his trainer PR video, or if he just bought a bunch of premier balls over and over, but whatever it is, it's working for him, and for me. |

- Oct 29, 2013
As winter comes upon us, so does the reawakening of our favorite glacier based mage. Do you know how much work Glace does for this site? Let me tell you: more than everyone. So lets take this week to appreciate Glace, without him we wouldn't have as great of a site as we do now. May you never melt away again, like the way you melt our hearts. |

- Oct 15, 2013
Much like the little guy in his avatar this week, Monkeydog exhibits pack behavior, and has a knack for calling others of his kind.
What can you really say about Monkeydog? He created this place, he is ever reliable and always here. |
| SpazCat
- Oct 08, 2013
It's like clockwork. A new MonkeyCraft world is generated, and SpazCat begins a posting frenzy. I have heard many a comment about how popular Spaz is both on the Minecraft server, and on the MonkeyPro message boards, and for that you shall be honored all week. |

Playing this week's Game of the Week made me think of the classics, and if there is one member who fits the definition of classic, it's Toys. |

What is a good simile to describe Kasper? He once referred to himself as a RPG mechanic. Well, that works, I suppose. He is, after all, the only active member who is also actively working on a game project. However, I think that he is perhaps the human embodiment of giving zero fucks on that day, or any day, really. Yeah, that sounds about right. That is what makes him great. |

Through the unexplainable miracles of science, Legacy was chosen as this weeks MOTW. Using a complex choosing ritual which involves putting a bunch of names in a hat, placing that hat in the center of a pentagram, lighting candles (vanilla scented--the most ritualistic scent), and dancing naked around that hat for hours in the middle of the night, I pretty much just chose Legacy because I wanted to after I was released from jail for indecent exposure. |

While reviewing posts to help decide this week's MOTW, I noticed that Bean's posts aren't consistent. Some are sarcastic, some are insightful, some are gifs of Mr. Bean, and some are inspired by intoxicants. Maybe most are. While meditating on this, the light from the rising sun crept in to my window, and in a moment of divine inspiration, the meaning of his posts came to me. They're about balance. Equal parts yin and yang (and alcohol). Equal parts brains and gifs. Posting within the mean. Indulging in all types of posts, but being a glutton of none. May we all learn from him, and in following his example, rise to buddhahood. |
| Puffin
- Sep 03, 2013
Give a big congratulations to Puffin this week, for being selected member of the week. Though not always one of the weekly top posters, Puffin has contributed to the community in a number of ways over the years, and has always been a benefit to our ranks. And I didn't chose her out of guilt for losing all of her lives in this week's game of the week, because I'm not motivated by guilt in that way. |

"I didn't ask for this," is the sort of thing that Adam Jenson might say if I picked him for member of the week. It is a life altering responsibility, and few are willing to bare that burden by choice. Not Xteven, however, who made his desires known a few weeks ago. In that time, I skipped out on two updates, and kinda forgot that I was probably going to choose him for one of those weeks. However, that's OK, because like it always does, patience has paid off. Congratulations, Xteven, you are this week's most celebrated member. |
| Vicious Parker
- Aug 20, 2013
What can be said about this man? This incredible man? That has not been said before? I don't know. The only thing I do know is I can't write up a MOTW worthy for him. He's always here to keep the peace, without being vicious, and really keeps this boat going steady. He writes wonderful updates and keeps us amused with weekly doses in sci-fi. He has added so much to the community (including his wonderful wife) and asks for nothing back. He is really quite incredible, and I'm not sure what else to write that wouldn't just be more fluff. |
| lazlo falconi
- Aug 13, 2013
Just days ago the board hit 100,000 active posts, and Lazlo is the culprit who nabbed the coveted honor of making said post. He ninja'd his way to the top with a well-written dedication to MonkeyPro that evoked manly pony tears and handily earned him the title of Member of the Week. |

Saint Cynicism wins this week for being an exemplar of "quality" not "quantity." Though his overall post count isn't very high, in the last few weeks he has made some very direct and thoughtful posts. I hope this trend of post quality continues (And Saint, feel free to post more too, should you so desire). |

Like Eminem, 7h3N4m3W17h1Numb3r thought we could use a little controversy. As a result, he started a topic about political opinions. If history has taught us anything, it's that political topics, especially on the internets, are always places of civility and politeness. Afterall, what says, "I respect you, neighbor," like, "YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT ALL THE THINGS!" I kid, I kid. Of all the places I might consider discussing politics, MonkeyPro has to be in the top only place ever. |

"But, verily, it be the nature of dreams to end." - The Wind Fish
End though dreams might, each new night seems to bring to life yet another egg, surrounded by an island of magic and fantasy. Where bananas are traded for dog food, mice show up whenever you are most photogenic, and animals live in their own village.
Well, crap. This analogy got out of hand quickly. I mostly just wanted to point out that Kamau is one of the most active and detailed members of our "Dreams OMG!" topic in the general discussion forum. I mean, that's pretty cool, right? I sure think so. |

BottomGuy is the best guy, despite being on the bottom. He should really just rename himself BestGuy. BG (aka BottomGuy aka BestGuy) is one of the most consistent member of leaving for periods of time and then coming back, and actually doing stuff like the Triple C. It's always like Christmas day when BG starts posting again, like a little spark of happiness in my heart whenever I see him online again after weeks of silence from his account. Thank you BG , for bringing Christmas year round to MP. |
| Amethyst
- Jul 02, 2013
A non-traditional choice for MOTW this week. Not because Amethyst isn't a welcome member of our community. Rather, because the only activity Amethyst has had around here lately is BRINGING THE SITE TO ITS KNEES! I guess that's what happens when you make a game that receives some popularity, and mirror it on our servers. But that's OK, right? Every now and then we need a reminder of just how fragile this series of tubes really is. |
| Edward Snowden
- Jun 25, 2013
Does something seem fishy about this week's MOTW? Maybe you're thinking that whoever did this is abusing their power. Well, so did Edward Snowden. Whistle Blowin' like nobody's business, Mr. Snowden informed the world about just what the U.S. government is up to, and immediately got the heck out of dodge. If only it were that simple...
If you want to talk about Edward Snowden, or any other important event or topic, visit our newly-remodeled Serious Discussion forum. |

I'll admit it, I like controversy. In spite of how heated arguments can be sometimes, I hope I'm not the only one here who welcomes them. Differing opinions help keep discussions lively, and Streets is just chock full of differing opinions. It may seem like a strange reason to name someone as MOTW, but it's good enough for me. Keep on bringin' it, and you'll stay streets ahead. |
| Stars
- Jun 10, 2013
I don't know who the guy in the original meme is, but I have a feeling that Stars is Good Guy Greg personified. One of the most regular and active members, not just in terms of post count, but in keeping active with most topics. Even keeping active with old projects that seem to have gone by the wayside. Not to push people, but out of genuine curiosity for past creativity. If that's not what makes Stars so full of Stars, I don't know what is. |

Kasper has been a welcome regular at MP for years now, and each post of his always haz a certain flavor. When we get to hear about his adventures, whether out exploring the world, or in employment, I can't help but think that he must be the most interesting man in the world mixed with Wile E. Coyote. Kasper always listens, and is an all around good guy. |

Bean, bean, you're sublime, I see you posting all the time.
In every topic, in every place, you're irreverence is "in your face."
Of death in London, you posted the scare. Would I visit? I wouldn't dare.
Of the XBox one, you brought the highlight real. Your love for the dog, you could not conceal.
And lastly, I would never have thunk, to compare the damn console, to Andy Samberg's junk. |

Well drat and blast. I was going to use this space to make a grand statement inviting Toys to come back as a much more regular member, who posts about more than just Daft Punk. Then suddenly, I noticed that yesterday he made a number of posts, more than I made, even. My gesture seems almost moot, now. almost.
Toys, you're MOTW this week. Make the most of it, by working Daft Punk in to every topic you post in. |

It goes without saying that new members are always welcome. Legacy has been with us for two months now, and has been fairly regular in that time. In fact, his first post was an entry to Dial C for Contest. Though right now he's still a silent protagonist, he is half way to 3rd Street and beyond. |
| SpazCat
- May 07, 2013
Trust no one. That is the best advice I can give you when dealing with this week's MOTW. People like Spazcat should not be promoted, be elected, be praised, and most concerning and most damning of all, should not be given psuedo-awards on internet message boards. Don't think for a second that this bit of recognition wasn't bought, likely with blood. Count your family members, fingers, and toes. And your cats.
And trust no one. |

I don't know where Noxie came from, but I think we're all happy he came from wherever it was. Just in the past few days he's posted he's made an impact. He's an enjoyable member and the community is better for him. If you haven't checked out his videos yet you should. |

I could have given this to a lot of new people from QR, like Legacy, Kyle, or TheNameWith1Number, but I gave it to Derpy just for being active and actually participating in changing his name for Hyperlisk week. But it should be known I appreciate all the new people and you're all Member of the Week in my heart, but Derpy is Member of the Week in reality. And one day, maybe, soon, you guys will leap out of my heart into reality as well. Thanks Derpy! for being awesome. |
